Step-by-Step Instructions

:computer: Step One: Create Your Movie Title (3 minutes)

1. Open the EduBlocks project link above
2. Click "Clone" to make your own copy
3. Start with a title tag for your browser tab
4. Add a big heading (h1) for your movie title
5. Make it exciting! Example: "The Amazing Adventure" or "Mystery at School"

:bulb: Tip Can't think of a title? Try combining:

• An adjective (Amazing, Mysterious, Incredible)
• A noun (Adventure, Journey, Mystery)
• A location (at School, in Space, Under the Sea)

:emoji:️ Step 2: Write Your Script (10-12 minutes)

1. Use paragraph blocks for each line of dialogue
2. Start each line with the character's name in CAPS
3. Add a colon (:) after the character's name
4. Write what they're saying after the colon
5. Create a new paragraph block for each line of dialogue

Example format:

HERO: I will save the day!
VILLAIN: Not if I stop you first!

• Keep dialogue short and punchy (1-2 sentences per line)
• Give each character a unique way of speaking
• Add stage directions in parentheses: (walks slowly)

:art: Step 3: Add Colorful Character Voices (5-7 minutes)

1. Click on a paragraph block with character dialogue
2. Use inline CSS to add color
3. Add style="color: colorname;" to the paragraph tag
4. Give each character their own unique color
5. Test your webpage to see the colors appear!

:bulb: Tip Color Suggestions:

• Hero = blue (brave and trustworthy)
• Villain = red (danger and conflict)
• Sidekick = green (supportive and friendly)
• Narrator = purple (mysterious and wise)
• Other colors: orange, pink, brown, gray

Want to make your movie script extra special? Try these bonus challenges:

1. Add 3 or more characters with different colors
2. Include stage directions in italics (like: Hero walks in slowly)
3. Create a plot twist in your story
4. Add scene headings using h2 tags (like "Scene 1: The Beginning")
5. Include "THE END" as a big h1 heading at the bottom

Troubleshooting

Having trouble? Here are solutions to common problems:

Problem: My colors aren't showing up

Solution: Make sure you typed style="color: blue;" exactly, including the quotes and semicolon

Problem: My text is all bunched together

Solution: Each line of dialogue needs its own paragraph block

Problem: I can't find the Clone button

Solution: Look at the top right of the EduBlocks screen - it should say "Clone" or "Remix"

Problem: My character names don't stand out

Solution: Write them in ALL CAPS and add a colon after the name

:bulb: Tip Quick Fix: If something goes wrong, you can always click "Undo" or refresh and start again!

• Plan your story first (5 minutes) - know your beginning, middle, and end
• Start simple - you can always add more later
• Test often - click the preview button to see your webpage
