This exercise includes two worksheet activities that will help you understand how data influences AI systems and explore the important topic of bias in artificial intelligence.

Step One: Access the Worksheets (2 minutes)

1. Click on each worksheet link below to open them:
   • Activity One: Training Data Worksheet
   • Activity 2: Bias in AI Worksheet

Step 2: Make Your Own Copies (3 minutes)

1. For each document, click File -> Make a copy
2. Rename your copies with your name (e.g., "Training Data - Your Name")
3. Save them to your Google Drive

Step 3: Complete the Activities (40-50 minutes)

1. Start with Activity One: Training Data
   • Read each question carefully
   • Think about examples from AI tools you've used
   • Write thoughtful responses in complete sentences
2. Move on to Activity 2: Bias in AI
   • Consider real-world impacts of the scenarios
   • Use specific examples when possible
   • Don't rush - quality matters more than speed! tip Stuck on a question? Think about AI tools you use daily like search engines, recommendation systems, or voice assistants. How might they show bias?

Step 4: Review Your Work (5 minutes)

1. Check that you've answered all questions
2. Make sure your responses are clear and complete
3. Save your documents one final time
